Ethiopian Frankincense is often referred to as "Church Frankincense" or "Liquid Gold" because of its bright, honey-colored tears and its deep history in religious ceremonies.

While Ethiopia produces several resins, the "golden" variety typically refers to Boswellia papyrifera, which grows in the northern Tigray region. It is quite different from the earthy, balsamic Omani Hojari that Violet and Company also stocks.

Ritual uses:

Traditionally used to elevate energy and create a sense of calm. It's a favorite for meditation specifically to help "lift" a heavy mood or clear mental fog.

Sacred home:

In Ethiopia, it is frequently used as a natural air purifier during coffee ceremonies.  In your own home, it could be used to create a fresh, uplifted atmosphere to support creativity and calm.

Aromatic Profile

The Scent: It has a strong, complex aroma that is classic "cathedral" incense. You'll notice a distinct pine-rich sweetness with bright citrus top notes of orange peel.

The Experience: It is often described as more "floral" and "juicy" than other varieties. Enthusiasts love it because it provides a thin, elegant plume of smoke that isn't as heavy as some darker resins.

This is packed in a resealable Kraft envelope with a clear window in the front, which makes it easy to see what is inside.  The Ethiopian Frankincense comes in two-ounce envelopes, so you have more than enough to use in multiple creations.  This resin a perfect tool for your altar work or for creating that signature scent for your sacred home space.    It is also great for making your own incenses.

Sustainability:  This resin is sustainably sourced

Recommended for external use only.  Do not leave warming resin unattended.  Keep out of reach of children and pets.
