Sweetgrass Braid - Sustainably Harvested
Bring the "scent of the Earth" into your sacred space. Sweetgrass (Hierochloe odorata) is traditionally used in ritual to invite positive energy, peace, and healing after a space has been cleared. Unlike the sharp scent of sage, sweetgrass offers a warm, vanilla-like aroma that lingers beautifully.  Called "the Hair of the Mother" by some people, this herb is sacred to Indigenous, First Nations people in the Americas and to others.

Length: The sweetgrass is between 20 and 24 inches long, and hand braided by Indigenous peoples according to tradition.

We carry single braids, which are perfect for individual ceremonies or as a thoughtful addition to a spiritual practice space or other space.  We also carry the 6-pack bundle, for those who carry out regular ceremonies or gift to their community.  

The sweetgrass used to make these braids is wildcrafted by First Nation peoples in Canada.  The braids will change based on what the earth provides and will always be beautiful.
